Department of Gastrointestinal, Endocrine, and Pediatric Surgery
Contents of medical treatment
About a half century has passed since the Department of the Second Surgery started medical services. During this time, providing the highest and the safest medical care in Wakayama prefecture has been consistently set as our basic stance and we have performed conscientious surgical treatment rooted in the Wakayama prefecture area.
The Second Surgery is in charge of endocrine surgery, pediatric surgery, endoscopic surgery, and general surgery with a central focus on gastrointestinal surgery.
Gastrointestinal surgery treats diseases in the small intestine, colon, rectum, and anus, including gastric and esophagus cancers, which are the most common cancers in Wakayama prefecture, and diseases in the liver, cholecyst, bile duct, pancreas, and spleen etc.
Although treatments for gastrointestinal cancer and biliary calculus are our focus, we also provide careful treatment for inflammatory bowel disease by specialists. We also perform surgical treatment for endocrine-related diseases in the thyroid gland and adrenal gland etc. and children's diseases by specialists. Furthermore, recently we have been doing our best to help patients return to normal life as soon as possible by performing surgical operations with an endoscope such as a laparoscope and thoracoscope.
If you are troubled with a disease in the digestive system, please contact the following.
